Kindergarten Readiness
Is your child ready for Kindergarten? Here are some things you can work on before coming to Kindergarten or some things to help you decide if your child is ready.
* Knows full name
* Recognizes upper and lower case letters of the alphabet (out of order)
* Writes upper and lower case letters of the alphabet
* Knows concepts of print, such as the top of the page, where to begin to read, bottom of the page, title of the story, that we read words and look at
pictures
* Writes numbers 1-10
* Recognizes numbers 1-10 (out of order)
* Responds to own name
* Follows simple directions
* Leaves parent after one "good-bye"
* Names or recognizes colors
* Dresses themselves (ties shoes, zips and buttons clothing)
* Uses restroom without needing help
